Frome Park provides boat ramp access to Henrys Lake, a scenic 6,000-acre mountain lake located just 15 miles west of Yellowstone National Park in the Island Park area. The concrete ramp is approximately 30 feet wide and suitable for motorized boats, canoes, and kayaks. This is a non-reservable, free-access site popular with anglers and paddlers exploring the pristine waters surrounded by the Continental Divide on three sides.
The lake sits at the headwaters of the Henry's Fork of the Snake River, just below the Continental Divide between Idaho and Montana. Beyond paddling and fishing, the area offers wildlife viewing opportunities and access to nearby wilderness and recreational trails. Primitive camping is available at the South Shore Boat Access nearby, making it a good base for multi-day trips. The relatively undeveloped nature of the access point means facilities are minimal, so plan accordingly with supplies and gear.
