**Location & Access:** Herring River Landing is a public boat ramp in West Harwich maintained by the Town of Harwich. The gravel ramp is located off Sandy Pond Road near its intersection with Herring Pond Road on the Plymouth/Bourne line. A small on-site parking area is available, though this is a popular access point, so arriving early is recommended. Note that some Town of Harwich ramps charge launching and/or parking fees—confirm current fees before your visit.
**Paddling Conditions:** This tidal-water access provides entry to the Herring River and surrounding waters, making it suitable for kayaks, canoes, and small boats. The river is known for its shallow, clear waters and supports one of Massachusetts' best river herring runs. Nearby paddlers can explore connections to surrounding waters and access areas near Monomoy National Wildlife Refuge. The shallow characteristics make this ramp well-suited for small craft and recreational paddling.
**Getting There:** Contact the Town of Harwich Parks & Recreation Department at 508-896-3701 for current information on fees, regulations, and hours of operation.
