Hester Ferry Campground provides easy access to Clarks Hill Lake, a large reservoir on the Savannah River. The site features a boat ramp that launches directly into the lake, making it a convenient put-in for kayakers, canoeists, and small motorized boats. Clarks Hill Lake is known for its excellent fishing opportunities, with populations of bass, crappie, and other species.
The campground itself offers 26 shaded campsites, as well as clean restrooms and shower facilities. While the campground is not reservable, it provides a quiet, scenic setting to base your lake activities. Nearby, the Richard B. Russell Lake recreation area offers additional boating, fishing, and hiking opportunities along the Savannah River system. Whether you're looking to paddle the calm waters of the lake or launch a small fishing boat, Hester Ferry Campground provides convenient access to the expansive Clarks Hill Lake.
