About This Access Site
Bass Bay at the south end of High Falls Reservoir offers a convenient public boat launch for paddlers and boaters exploring this 1,471-acre Marinette County water body. The bay is known as a quieter paddling destination compared to other areas of the reservoir, with several small islands nearby providing excellent spots for breaks or picnics. With a maximum depth of 54 feet, the reservoir accommodates various watercraft and offers good fishing opportunities for musky, walleye, northern pike, bass, and panfish.

From this access point, paddlers can explore Bass Bay's protected waters or venture into the broader reservoir system. The area also provides connections to other quieter paddling zones, including South Bay and Crane Bay in the adjacent Caldron Falls Flowage, as well as the northern stretch of the river flowing between boat landings. This makes Bass Bay an ideal launching point for both day paddles and longer explorations of the interconnected waterway system.
