The site is accessible via OH-164 from Lisbon or OH-39 from Salineville and Wellsville. Parking is available at the facility.

The ramp includes boat launch facilities, a handicap-accessible dock, and adequate parking for vehicle and trailer access. This is a popular destination for fishing (largemouth bass, channel catfish, and white crappie are common), waterfowl hunting, birding, and paddling. The area offers peaceful water access with opportunities for both casual paddling and fishing from docks or banks. Note that no camping is permitted within the wildlife area itself.
