About This Access Site
Highview Park offers a well-maintained four-lane boat ramp on the upper western shore of Bardwell Lake near Ennis, Texas, making it an excellent access point for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats. The ramp is suitable for all boat types at normal lake levels and includes a courtesy dock for loading and unloading. A $5 day-use fee per vehicle covers access to the boat ramps, picnic areas, and other facilities. From Ennis, take Texas Highway 34 south approximately 3/4 mile past the lake bridge, then turn right on the unpaved park road. The park provides parking for approximately 40 vehicles.

Beyond the ramp, Highview Park is a full-service facility with campsites (30 and 50-amp electrical hookups available), picnic areas, and group pavilions, making it convenient for extended trips or family outings. Bardwell Lake, created in 1965 in the Blackland Prairie region of Ellis County, is known among locals as an excellent fishing destination for bass, crappie, and catfish. The park's location on the Waxahachie Creek arm provides access to the upper lake reaches and main tributaries. For campground reservations or additional information, contact the park at 972-875-5711.
