About This Access Site
The Highway 232 Bridge boat ramp provides access to Buffalo Camp Bayou in Lake Jackson, located within Wilderness Park. This limestone ramp is designed for shallow-draft boats and is best suited for kayakers, canoeists, and small recreational vessels. The site offers year-round access to explore the bayou and surrounding waterways in this coastal Brazoria County area.

Paddlers and boaters should note that this is a shallow-water access point, so larger boats and those with deeper drafts may have limited usability. The location near two major wildlife refuges—San Bernard (established 1968) and Brazoria (established 1966)—makes it an excellent starting point for wildlife viewing and nature exploration. Both refuges protect extensive salt marsh, coastal prairie, and freshwater habitats that attract migratory waterfowl and other bird species, particularly during winter months. Before visiting, confirm current conditions and facility availability, as access can be subject to seasonal changes.
