The Highway 31 Bridge boat ramp provides convenient access to the Pere Marquette River near Ludington. This is a developed Forest Service access point with a paved ramp at the end of a level dirt road, suitable for kayakers, canoeists, and motorized boats. The access span is relatively short (less than 50 yards), making it quick and easy to launch. Parking is available in the lot, and basic amenities include pit toilets and a small provision store within walking distance across the highway.
**Important:** No motors are permitted upstream of Indian Bridge, so motorized boaters should plan trips accordingly. This is the primary motorized access point operated by the Forest Service on the Pere Marquette. Paddlers heading upstream will enjoy a motor-free experience on much of the river. The location makes it ideal for both day trips and access to longer paddling routes on this popular Michigan waterway.
