About This Access Site
The Highway 7 Bridge access point near Princeton offers a convenient put-in for canoeists and kayakers on the popular Rum River. This undeveloped site is suitable for launching canoes and small boats, though access is water-level dependent—conditions are best during normal to high water periods. The access is located at river mile 71.2, making it a good starting point for paddlers planning downstream floats.

From Highway 7 Bridge, paddlers can enjoy a scenic 14.4-mile float to the Walbo Ferry Trailer Access downstream. The Rum River is a well-established paddling destination known for its natural character. Be aware that during high water conditions, the State Highway 47 bridge crossing has limited clearance. This access site is open 24 hours a day and is available for both trailer launch and carry-in use. The nearby Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge offers additional recreational opportunities in the region for those exploring the area.
