Located in Port Arthur near the Highway 73 bridge, this public boat ramp provides convenient access to Taylor Bayou and the surrounding coastal marsh ecosystem. The ramp accommodates small boats with outboard motors, making it suitable for kayakers, canoeists, and recreational boaters. From the launch point, paddlers can explore Taylor Bayou and venture toward the nearby levees and ditches that characterize this low-lying bayou system.
The area offers excellent wildlife viewing opportunities, particularly during late spring and summer when least bitterns and other waterfowl species are active. The proximity to Texas Point National Wildlife Refuge and McFaddin National Wildlife Refuge makes this an ideal starting point for paddlers interested in observing migratory and wintering waterfowl, especially from October onward. This is a coastal marsh environment, so expect shallow, slow-moving water typical of Southeast Texas bayous. Check current conditions before visiting, as water levels and ramp availability can vary seasonally.
