Historic Harbor

Located in Lakeside Marblehead on the shores of Sandusky Bay, Historic Harbor offers a well-developed four-lane boat ramp providing excellent access for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats. The facility includes approximately 100 parking spaces, making it convenient for day trips and group outings. From here, paddlers can explore the shallow waters and islands of Sandusky Bay, a productive estuarine environment ideal for recreational paddling.

The site offers amenities beyond the launch, including a picnic shelter and a handicapped-accessible observation deck overlooking the bay—useful for trip planning or breaks during your paddle. Nearby, you'll find the Old Woman Creek National Estuarine Research Reserve, offering additional scenic paddling opportunities and educational resources about the area's coastal ecosystem. The proximity to Perry's Victory & International Peace Memorial on nearby South Bass Island also makes this an excellent staging point for historical tours by water.
