About This Access Site
Holleys Ferry Boat Ramp provides access to the Alabama River, a major waterway flowing 313 miles through the heart of Alabama. Paddlers, boaters, and anglers will find a simple boat launch site here, with a gravel ramp leading directly into the river.

The Alabama River is a large, navigable waterway suitable for a variety of watercraft. At this location, the river is over 500 feet wide with an average flow of nearly 35,000 cubic feet per second. The total drop in elevation over the river's length is around 120 feet, resulting in a moderate average gradient of 0.4 feet per mile. These characteristics make the Alabama River a popular destination for power boating, fishing, and flatwater paddling.

While the boat ramp provides direct access to the river, there is no dock or other amenities at this site. Visitors should come prepared with any necessary supplies and be cautious of water levels, which can fluctuate significantly. An high-clearance or four-wheel-drive vehicle may be needed to access the ramp during periods of high water.
