About This Access Site
Holly Lake near Lutsen in Cook County offers public boat access for paddlers and boaters. This is a no-fee launch location suitable for small to medium-sized watercraft. The site provides access to a backcountry lake environment typical of northeastern Minnesota's scenic landscape.

The Holly Lake area functions as part of a wilderness paddling destination, with at least one backcountry campsite available on a first-come, first-served basis. If you plan to camp, be prepared for backcountry conditions: bring your own water treatment supplies, practice Leave No Trace principles (including hanging food packs and fully extinguishing fires), and note that facilities are minimal—expect only a fire grate, latrine, and possibly a picnic table. This location is ideal for kayakers and canoeists seeking a remote paddling and camping experience.
