About This Access Site
Hood Park is a full-service access point on Lake Wallula in Burbank, Washington, featuring a three-lane boat ramp and boat dock for easy water access. The facility is located near the confluence of the Snake and Columbia Rivers—historically significant as a Lewis and Clark campsite—and serves as an excellent base for paddlers and boaters. The park offers 46 campsites (many with electricity), hot showers, flush toilets, and a dump station. Reservations are available through Recreation.gov or by calling 877-444-6777.

The Snake River at this location is a major waterway with significant flow (averaging nearly 50,000 cubic feet per second) and should be approached with respect. While this section forms the calmer impoundment of Lake Wallula behind McNary Lock and Dam, paddlers should be aware of the river's powerful current and substantial drainage area. The site provides good opportunities for both leisurely paddling on the lake and access to nearby recreational areas, including swimming beaches and fishing grounds.

**Directions:** From Pasco, take Highway 12 east across the Snake River Bridge, then exit onto State Route 124 east toward Waitsburg. Turn right on Hood Park Road and follow it to the boat launch. For reservations or information, contact the park at 509-547-2048.
