The Hope Dam access site provides a convenient launch point for paddlers and small boaters on the upper Pawtuxet River in Scituate. A gravel boat ramp accommodates both hand-carried boats (kayaks and canoes) and small trailered boats, though priority should be given to trailer launching during busy times. The site includes a parking area and is located off Pontiac Avenue, easily accessible via Route 37 and Post Road North.
This access point is ideal for non-motorized boating and electric-motor vessels only. From Hope Dam, paddlers can enjoy approximately 2 miles of easy paddling on the upper river. The area offers a nice combination of recreational opportunities, with proximity to the historic Blackstone River Valley National Historical Park nearby, which showcases the region's important industrial heritage along the Pawtuxet River system.
