About This Access Site
**Location & Access:** This boat ramp is located at the south end of the dam at Lakeside Campground and Recreation Area on Hords Creek Lake, approximately 10 miles west of Coleman, TX in Coleman County. From Highway 153, follow signs into the campground to reach the ramp. The lake sits about 63 miles south of Abilene.

**Lake Conditions & Recreation:** Hords Creek Lake is a 510-acre impoundment with a maximum depth of 39 feet, offering good conditions for kayaking, canoeing, and motorboating. The lake is known for fishing opportunities including largemouth bass (record: 11 lbs 4 oz), crappie, catfish, and sunfish. The surrounding landscape features beautiful oak trees typical of this region. No marina or boat rental facilities are available on site, so come prepared with your own equipment.

**Facilities & Services:** Lakeside Campground offers a full range of amenities including water and electric hookups at campsites, showers, dump stations, fishing piers, and multiple boat ramps throughout the facility. The campground is partially open year-round and fully open March 1 through September 30. For reservations and current facility status, contact 325-625-2322. Note that some facilities may be subject to periodic closures—check the Army Corps of Engineers closure report before your visit.

All of the campsites have water and electric hookups, some have sewer hookups. Boat ramps, fishing piers and showers can be found throughout the campground. Also, six sites come with screened shelters to aid with windy weather.

The lake is nestled in the middle of Texas, surrounded by gently rolling hills dotted with Live oak trees.
