Horsehead Lake

**Location & Facilities:** The Horsehead Lake boat ramp is located in Presque Isle, Vilas County, providing public access to this 250-acre lake. The ramp is paved and suitable for launching kayaks, canoes, and motorboats. This access point is associated with Moosehead Lake Camp, which operates on a first-come, first-served basis—arrive in person to secure a site and pay via QR code through the Recreation.gov app if available.

**Lake Character:** Horsehead Lake is a moderately deep lake with a maximum depth of 24 feet and mean depth of 13 feet, making it suitable for various water activities. The lake supports a healthy fishery including musky, walleye, northern pike, largemouth and smallmouth bass, and panfish, so you may encounter anglers on the water.
