Hubbard Lake South Bay is a Michigan DNR public boat launch located on the south end of Hubbard Lake in Alcona County. This paved access site features a concrete launch ramp and ample parking with 64 car/trailer spaces, making it well-suited for kayakers, canoeists, and larger motorboats. The facility provides convenient access to Michigan's largest inland lake.
Hubbard Lake is a popular freshwater destination offering opportunities to fish for northern pike, walleye, smallmouth bass, rainbow trout, and yellow perch. Paddlers should note that this is one of two major public access points on the lake—the North Shore ramp (off Hubert/Hubbard Lake Road) also provides launch access. The south bay location is ideal for exploring the lower portion of the lake and accessing nearby waterways. Given the lake's size and popularity, arriving early during peak season is recommended to secure parking.
