Hurricane Creek Recreation Area, also known as Johnson Creek Marina, provides access to Lake O' The Pines, an 18,700-acre reservoir in the piney woods of Northeast Texas. The facility features a well-maintained 2-lane concrete boat ramp with a courtesy dock for easy passenger loading and unloading. Located on the south shore near the dam, this Army Corps of Engineers-operated park offers convenient day-use access with ample parking and accessible restrooms on-site.
To reach the ramp from Jefferson, take Texas 49 west to FM 729, then turn left on FM 726. Continue across the dam and turn right on FM 3001—the entrance will be on your right. This is a small, quiet recreation area ideal for kayakers, canoeists, and boaters seeking a peaceful paddling experience on the lake. If you're planning to stay longer, Johnson Creek Camp and Alley Creek Camp, both reservable campgrounds, are located within 10 miles of the access point.
