About This Access Site
Ida Lake in Monticello offers excellent access for kayakers, canoeists, and boaters through multiple public ramps. The lake itself is a 231-acre water body with a maximum depth of 60 feet and notably clear water, making it well-suited for paddling and recreational boating. The Southeast Boat Ramp, located off Sunset Strip NW, features a concrete launch with parking for several vehicles and is the primary access point in this area.

Additional ramp options are available around the lake if you prefer alternative launch points: the East Boat Ramp (off Sugar Sand Ln NW, concrete) and the North Boat Ramp (off Big Horn Bay Rd NW, gravel). With 13 public landings total around Ida Lake, you'll have flexibility in choosing your launch location. The clear water conditions and moderate size make this lake ideal for paddlers of various skill levels, and the area is popular for both fishing and general recreation.
