Indian Lake Access

Indian Lake offers a convenient boat ramp and hand launch facility in Rhinelander for kayakers, canoeists, and small boats. The main ramp is located at the end of Indian Trail in a gravel parking area with a turn-around. A hand launch for smaller craft is available adjacent to the main ramp, making this a good option for paddlers who prefer to avoid the ramp. The site includes parking and is easily accessible from Route 1 North.

This location provides a gateway to exploring the Indian Lake watershed. Paddlers should note that water access between Lewey Lake and Indian Lake requires a portage over the spillway underneath the bridge on Route 30—this route is generally restricted to small boats, canoes, and kayaks.
