About This Access Site
Indian Lake County Park offers a public boat launch on the west side of this 64-acre Dane County lake, accessible via US Highway 19 in Cross Plains. The launch is located at 8381 State Highway 19 and provides convenient access for kayakers, canoeists, and small motorboats. With a maximum depth of 7.5 feet, Indian Lake is ideal for paddlers of all skill levels seeking a shallow, calm water experience.

The park provides ample amenities including parking at the west entrance, a reservable timber frame shelter, and miles of scenic trails that loop around the entire lake. A historic chapel dating to 1857 sits on a hilltop with views of the lake and surrounding valley, making it a worthwhile destination for paddlers exploring the area. Note that motors are prohibited on the lake, making it a peaceful paddling environment. Dogs are welcome in the adjacent off-leash dog park area and on leash throughout the park.
