Indian Mound Park

Indian Mound Park offers a convenient boat launch on the upper Red Cedar River near Rice Lake in northwestern Barron County. This neighborhood park features a small boat landing area with a steep embankment down to the water. The park itself includes ADA-compliant restrooms, a picnic shelter with kitchenette, picnic tables, and off-street parking—making it a good spot for a quick lunch break or pre-paddle preparation.

**Access considerations:** Street parking is limited, so plan accordingly. The park is located at the corner of Linden Avenue and Whitetail Drive on the northwest side of Rice Lake. The terrain transitions from relatively flat upland to a steep drop-off at the river, so be prepared for a short but steep carry to reach the water. The upper Red Cedar River corridor north of the park is primarily a scenic parkway with limited development, offering paddlers access to quieter stretches of water.
