Indian Mounds Campground

Indian Mounds Campground offers convenient access to Toledo Bend Reservoir via dual boat ramps, making it an excellent launching point for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters. The recreation area features 37 campsites with tent and RV accommodations, picnic tables, grills, and portable toilets. The facility operates year-round and provides easy access for water-based recreation, with fishing being a primary activity on the reservoir.

Toledo Bend Reservoir is a substantial impoundment on the Sabine River, which is a major river system (Stream Order 8) with a drainage area of 9,577 square miles. The Sabine River itself carries an average flow of over 9,100 cubic feet per second, though conditions on the reservoir will vary seasonally. Paddlers should expect reservoir conditions rather than river current, making this suitable for various skill levels. The dual ramp configuration accommodates multiple vessels, though paddlers should plan accordingly during peak fishing and recreational seasons.
