About This Access Site
Located in Intake, Montana along the Yellowstone River, this boat ramp provides direct access to one of Montana's premier river corridors. The ramp allows you to launch upstream or downstream, making it convenient for both day trips and longer float expeditions. This is a popular fishing access point, offering opportunities to target fish species throughout this section of the Yellowstone.

**What to Know Before You Go:** The site is currently undergoing Intake Dam reconstruction, so be aware that rip rap armors the bank above the inlet to the bypass channel, which remains plugged with steel piers and rock. Despite this, the ramp remains functional for launching kayaks, canoes, and motorboats. The Yellowstone River in this area supports diverse paddling opportunities, and from here you can float downstream toward other popular takeouts like Indian Fort or Reed Point (approximately 5 miles downstream). This section is known for good fishing access and scenic Yellowstone River paddling.
