About This Access Site
Located at 408 Milltown Road in Taylors Falls, Interstate State Park offers a concrete plank boat ramp providing easy access to the St. Croix River. The facility includes restrooms, drinking water, and a seasonal canoe and kayak rental concession, making it convenient for paddlers of all experience levels. **Note: A Minnesota state park vehicle permit is required for all vehicles using this launch; boats themselves are exempt from the permit requirement.**
This is an excellent starting point for day trips and upstream paddling on the St. Croix. However, paddlers planning to travel downstream should be aware of a mandatory 1.5-mile portage around the St. Croix Falls Dam, located approximately 1.5 miles south of the ramp. Portage maps are available to help plan your route. The park also offers camping, picnic shelters, and fishing opportunities, making it ideal for a full day outing on the river.
