Island Lake County Park offers convenient public access to this 225-acre lake in southern Hubbard County, Minnesota, located seven miles south of Nevis. The access features a county-owned earthen boat ramp on the north side of the lake, with parking available within the park. To reach the site, take Victoria Avenue south of I-694 to the park entrance.
The lake accommodates all types of watercraft, including kayaks, canoes, motorized boats, and sailboats, provided they meet Minnesota DNR safety requirements. With a maximum depth of 32 feet, Island Lake offers decent paddling conditions and is popular with both recreational boaters and anglers. A fishing pier is located on the west shore south of the ramp if you'd like to explore additional shoreline access. Note that the access point uses an earthen ramp rather than concrete, so water levels and seasonal conditions may affect launch ease.
