Island Lake County Park offers public boat access via an earthen ramp located on the north side of this 225-acre lake in southern Hubbard County, Minnesota. The access point is situated on Victoria Avenue south of I-694 near Nevis. All watercraft types are permitted, including kayaks, canoes, and motorboats, provided they meet Minnesota DNR safety requirements. The park also features a fishing pier on the west shore.
Island Lake has a maximum depth of 32 feet and provides a scenic, relatively undeveloped paddling environment. The lake sits just north of the Duluth area and attracts both recreational paddlers and anglers. In addition to the main boat ramp, there's a channel underneath I-694 that offers access to shoreline fishing, giving paddlers multiple areas to explore on the water.
