About This Access Site
Island Lake County Park provides public boat access via an **earthen ramp located on the north side of the lake**. The access point is situated on Victoria Avenue, south of I-694 near Remer in Cass County. This 225-acre lake with a maximum depth of 32 feet welcomes all watercraft types, including kayaks, canoes, motorboats, and sailboats, provided they meet Minnesota DNR safety requirements. The park also features a fishing pier on the west shore for anglers preferring shore-based access.

The lake's scenic, relatively undeveloped character makes it an attractive destination for both paddlers and fishing enthusiasts. In addition to the main boat ramp, shore anglers can access water in and around the channel area beneath I-694. If you're planning an extended visit, note that nearby Mabel Lake Campground operates on both a reservable basis (up to 6 months in advance) and first-come, first-serve availability for day-use visitors.
