The facility features a single-lane boat ramp in good condition, a fishing pier, paved parking for approximately 9 vehicles, trash cans, and bank access. Lake Hartwell is one of the most popular U.S. Army Corps of Engineers reservoirs in the nation, offering ample opportunity for paddling and boating. The broader Savannah River system that feeds the lake is a major river with significant flow (averaging 12,800+ cubic feet per second) and substantial drainage area, making it an important waterway. With 34 total boat ramps available around Hartwell Lake, paddlers and boaters have multiple access points if conditions at Jarrett are crowded. A nearby campground—Lake Hartwell Camping and Cabins—is available for those planning extended visits to the area.
