About This Access Site
Jarrett Access Area is a public boat launch located on Lake Hartwell near Anderson, South Carolina, southwest of US Highway 29 and above Hartwell Dam. The facility features a single-lane boat ramp in good condition, a fishing pier, paved parking for approximately 9 vehicles, trash cans, and bank access. There are no restrooms, boat dock, or lighting at the site. The ramp is open year-round, though the park itself operates seasonally from April 1 through September 9.

Lake Hartwell is one of the most popular U.S. Army Corps of Engineers reservoirs in the nation, offering ample opportunity for paddling and boating. The broader Savannah River system that feeds the lake is a major river with significant flow (averaging 12,800+ cubic feet per second) and substantial drainage area, making it an important waterway. With 34 total boat ramps available around Hartwell Lake, paddlers and boaters have multiple access points if conditions at Jarrett are crowded. A nearby campground—Lake Hartwell Camping and Cabins—is available for those planning extended visits to the area.
