About This Access Site
The J.C. Ramp in Orme, Tennessee provides boat access to the Tennessee River's Guntersville Lake. This is a public boat ramp well-suited for launching kayaks, canoes, and small to medium-sized motorboats.

The ramp is located on the east bank of the Tennessee River, west of Alabama Highway 227. To reach the access point, take 227 north from Guntersville, turn left into Guntersville State Park, then left again on County Road 505 toward the cabins. The ramp will be on the right.

Guntersville Lake is a large, meandering reservoir with a surface area of over 69,000 acres. The river in this area is relatively wide and slow-moving, making it an ideal waterway for recreational boating and paddling. Numerous coves, islands, and shoals provide opportunities for exploration and wildlife viewing. Nearby attractions include Russell Cave National Monument, an important archaeological site.
