About This Access Site
Jennings Ferry Boat Ramp provides convenient access to the Black Warrior River, a large, navigable river in central Alabama. The boat ramp sits alongside a gently sloping shoreline, making it easy for kayakers, canoeists, and small motorized boats to launch.

The Black Warrior River is a substantial waterway, measuring 168 miles long with an average flow of over 10,000 cubic feet per second. Its gentle 1.1 ft/mile gradient makes it suitable for a variety of boating activities, from fishing and leisure cruising to more adventurous paddling. Kayakers and canoeists will find the river easy to navigate, with opportunities to spot wildlife like waterfowl and birds of prey along the banks.

The adjacent Jennings Ferry Campground offers amenities like campsites, picnic areas, and a boat ramp with security lighting, making it a good base camp for those looking to explore the Black Warrior River by boat.
