Jocassee 2 is the northernmost boat ramp on Lake Jocassee and serves as the designated parking and launch point for paddlers heading to Double Springs boat-in campground at Devil's Fork State Park. Located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, this ramp provides access to a pristine 7,500-acre reservoir known for crystal-clear water and scenic mountain views. The lake is fed by four major rivers and features approximately 75 miles of shoreline with numerous lakeside waterfalls, making it an excellent destination for kayaking and canoeing.
The ramp terrain can be challenging, so paddlers should be prepared for variable conditions. Lake Jocassee is quite deep—averaging 157 feet with maximum depths around 351 feet—so check water levels before launching. The lake attracts both fishing enthusiasts and recreational paddlers; if you prefer quieter paddling away from motorboats, consider the more remote Devil's Fork ramp alternatively. Kayak rentals and guided tours are available through local outfitters like Jocassee Lake Tours and The Jocassee Outdoor Center.
Cherry Hill Campground (reservable) is available nearby for paddlers planning multi-day trips, and boat-in camping at Double Springs offers a unique overnight experience for those with their own watercraft.
