About This Access Site
**Location & Access:** John Muir County Park is located south of Montello in Marquette County, Wisconsin. To reach the boat ramp, take State Highway 22 to County Highway F and head south approximately 7.6 miles to the park entrance. The improved boat launch provides straightforward water access for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats on Ennis Lake.

**What to Expect:** Ennis Lake is a 125-acre water body popular for paddling and fishing. The park offers more than just water access—a scenic trail and boardwalk loop around the lake, picnic areas, and historical significance as the boyhood home of naturalist John Muir make this a worthwhile destination. The Ice Age Trail also forms a loop around the lake for those interested in combining paddling with hiking. A parking area is available at the launch.

**Nearby Opportunities:** Paddlers interested in exploring beyond Ennis Lake will find the Mecan River and other regional lakes nearby, as well as the Fox River National Wildlife Refuge in the area, offering additional paddling and wildlife viewing opportunities.
