About This Access Site
John Wayne Marina, located just north of Highway 101 on Sequim Bay, offers a well-developed launching facility for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters. The marina features multiple boat launch ramps, fuel service, and full amenities including a restaurant, showers, and laundry facilities. Public beach access and picnic areas are also available, making it a convenient base for exploring the bay.

Sequim Bay provides excellent paddling opportunities with access to nearby protected areas and wildlife refuges. From John Wayne Marina, paddlers can explore the scenic Dungeness area, approximately 1,600 yards by boat to South Pitship Point. The proximity to both the Dungeness National Wildlife Refuge and Protection Island National Wildlife Refuge makes this an ideal launch point for wildlife viewing and day trips. Note that launch ramp permits may be required; contact the Port of Port Angeles or the marina directly for current fees and permit information.
