Jones State Lake offers a convenient boat ramp and launch facility for kayakers, canoeists, and small boaters near Equality in Saline County. The access site features a newly updated boat ramp, dock/pier access, and dedicated parking for boat trailers. With universally accessible facilities and an information kiosk on-site, this is a well-equipped launch point for paddlers of all abilities.
The lake itself spans approximately 105 acres with a 2.7-mile shoreline and reaches a maximum depth of 33 feet, making it suitable for recreational paddling and fishing. The broader 1,248-acre site includes 42 camping spots available on a first-come, first-serve basis, along with restroom facilities and scenic viewing areas. The location also provides access to nearby Shawnee National Forest for extended outdoor recreation. Note that aquatic invasive species inspections are conducted at the site to protect the water body's health.
