About This Access Site
Jute Lake offers a public boat ramp providing convenient access to this 191-acre Vilas County lake near Boulder Junction. The ramp features a gravel surface suitable for launching kayaks, canoes, and motorboats. With a maximum depth of 23 feet and mean depth of 16 feet, the lake provides good water conditions for recreational paddling and boating throughout the season.

The lake supports a healthy fishery including musky, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, and panfish, making it popular with anglers as well as recreational paddlers. If you're planning to camp in the area, Pomeroy Lake Camp and Moosehead Lake Camp are both within 10 miles and offer reservable campsites. Note that Pomeroy Lake Camp operates on a first-come, first-served basis for walk-up arrivals, with the option to pay via QR code through the Recreation.gov app if available.
