About This Access Site
Located on the northwest shore of Kachess Lake near Roslyn, Kachess Campground offers a well-developed access point for kayakers, canoeists, and motorized boaters. The facility features two boat launches—one for motorized boats and one for non-motorized craft—with ample parking for vehicles and trailers. The campground sits at 2,300 feet elevation in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest, surrounded by dense old-growth evergreens and high mountain peaks, making it an attractive base for water-based recreation.

The campground includes over 100 campsites (reservable through Recreation.gov at 509-852-1100), along with a swimming area and picnic facilities. Amenities include drinking water but no electric hookups. **Important note for paddlers:** Late summer boating can be problematic due to significant reservoir drawdown, which may limit launch accessibility during drought periods. Plan your visit accordingly and check conditions ahead of time. The facility accommodates both cartop boats and trailer rigs, making it suitable for various watercraft types and skill levels.
