Karick Lake South provides a concrete boat ramp with courtesy dock access to 65-acre Karick Lake in the Blackwater River State Forest, located approximately 1 hour northeast of Pensacola in Okaloosa County. The launch facility is situated within the Karick Lake South Campground, making it a convenient starting point for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters exploring this scenic freshwater lake. The ramp is well-maintained and suitable for launching various watercraft.
This recreation area offers good amenities for a full day of paddling or fishing. The campground includes restrooms, showers, and a dump station, with RV campsites available if you want to extend your visit. A pier is also available at the launch area. The lake is stocked for fishing, making it popular with anglers as well as paddlers seeking a calm-water paddling experience. Note that a second concrete boat ramp is available at the North Campground if needed.
