About This Access Site
The Kenai River boat ramp in Kenai, Alaska provides access to this large, glacial-fed river. The Kenai is a major waterway, spanning over 97 miles with an average flow of over 1,000 cubic feet per second. Paddlers and boaters should be prepared for the river's size, swift current, and changeable conditions.

The boat ramp is located just off the Kenai Spur Highway, about 1.6 miles south of milepost 10.8. This is one of two main access points for the upper Kenai River, where motorized boats are restricted to drift-only between the ramp and Skilak Lake. Anglers and floaters can also access the middle Kenai River via a boat ramp and campground located off Skilak Lake Road.

The Kenai River flows through the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge, offering paddlers and boaters the opportunity to experience this protected wilderness area. Before heading out, be sure to check the latest regulations and conditions, as the Kenai is a popular and frequently used waterway.
