The Kenai Lake boat ramp provides access to the upper section of the Kenai River in Cooper Landing, Alaska. Located at the outlet of Kenai Lake, this ramp is one of the primary put-in points for paddlers and boaters interested in floating the drift-only (no motors) upper Kenai River.
The boat ramp has a large parking area that can accommodate over 200 vehicles. From the ramp, boaters can access Kenai Lake, as well as the upper Kenai River, which flows for about 2 miles before the drift-only restriction begins. Paddlers and small boaters should be prepared for the river's moderate flow and gradient in this section.
For those interested in overnight stays, the nearby Quartz Creek Campground offers reservable campsites within 10 miles of the boat ramp. Visitors should review the reservation policies and fees for the Juneau Lake Cabin, the only federal recreation facility in the immediate area.
