The Kenai River Eagle Rock Drive access site provides an excellent boat launch and wading access point for kayakers, canoeists, and boaters exploring the Kenai River. The Kenai River is a large, meandering river that runs for nearly 100 miles across Alaska's Kenai Peninsula. With an average flow of over 1,000 cubic feet per second and a mild gradient of 4.2 feet per mile, the Kenai offers a scenic and navigable waterway for a variety of watercraft.
The Eagle Rock Drive access features a gravel parking area and boat ramp that is available for public use, though there may be a fee. This site is located about halfway between the towns of Kenai and Soldotna, along the Kenai Spur Highway. Paddlers and boaters can easily access the Kenai River from this convenient location to enjoy fishing, wildlife viewing, and other recreational activities within the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge. Before launching, be sure to review the river's characteristics and plan accordingly for the Kenai's size, flow, and gradient.
