Kincaid Lake West Boat Launch provides convenient access to Kincaid Lake, a large 2,600-acre reservoir located about 10 miles west of Alexandria within Kisatchie National Forest. This south-side launch offers a paved boat ramp with floating dock, paved extended parking spaces, and vault-type toilet facilities. The calm, expansive reservoir is ideal for kayakers and canoeists seeking flatwater paddling without significant current or gradient concerns.
The facility is reservable through Recreation.gov and connects to several excellent trail systems, making it a good basecamp for paddlers interested in combining water recreation with hiking. Kincaid Lake Campground is available nearby for overnight stays. From Alexandria, take LA Highway 28 west for 13 miles to LA Highway 121, then follow signs to the launch. Be aware there is a separate East Boat Launch on Messina Road if you prefer different facilities or easier access from that direction.
