About This Access Site
Kinkaid Lake offers excellent access for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters with four public boat ramps and a full-service marina located near Murphysboro in Jackson County. The main ramp at Joy Marina provides easy access with ample parking, while additional ramps like Paul Ice Boat Ramp are available around the lake. This is a popular destination for both paddling and fishing, with an interactive guide available to help you locate specific access points and identify top fishing spots.

Boaters should note that while there are no motor restrictions, speed limits of 50 mph during daytime and 25 mph from sunset to sunrise are enforced. The lake also offers hunting opportunities by request during applicable seasons.
