KL1 Lake

**Location & Access**
KL1 Lake is a public boat ramp access point located in Rochester, Ohio County, Kentucky, within the Peabody Wildlife Management Area. The ramp provides convenient launch access to this scenic 12-acre lake and connects paddlers to the downstream Pond River system for extended boating opportunities.

**What to Expect**
This is a straightforward public boat launch suitable for kayaks, canoes, and small motorboats. The area features wildlife viewing opportunities, including nesting bald eagles and waterfowl in surrounding sloughs and wetlands. If you're interested in white bass fishing, the Pond River experiences a notable run around early April. Parking is limited to designated areas and maintained roads—be sure not to block gates or access roads.

**Important Notes**
This site is part of a managed wildlife area, so be aware that hunting occurs seasonally. Visitors should stay clear of the ramp area during hunting season, and note that firearms cannot be discharged within 100 yards of the boat ramp. Check local regulations before your visit, as access may be restricted during certain times of year.
