About This Access Site
Kleist Landing provides public boat access to lower Lake Tainter on the Red Cedar River in Menomonie. This access point was donated to Dunn County by the Dunn County Fish and Game Club in 1990 and is designed to accommodate year-round use by paddlers, anglers, and recreational boaters.

Tainter Lake is a 1,605-acre impoundment with a maximum depth of 37 feet and relatively low water clarity. The lake supports populations of panfish, largemouth and smallmouth bass, northern pike, and walleye. The site offers convenient parking and launching facilities for kayaks, canoes, and motorboats looking to access lower Tainter Lake. Before visiting, check Wisconsin DNR resources for current conditions and any seasonal access information.
