Knudson Cove is a convenient boat launch and access point to the Pacific Ocean in the Ketchikan area of Alaska. Located approximately 16 miles north of Ketchikan, the site features a boat ramp and open moorage for vessels up to 40 feet in length.
This access point is well-suited for kayakers, canoeists, and small powerboats looking to explore the protected waters of Clover Passage, Behm Canal, and the surrounding archipelago. The Pacific Ocean can be accessed directly from the boat ramp, allowing boaters to venture out into more open waters. However, paddlers and small craft should be aware of the dynamic ocean conditions and plan accordingly.
Nearby campgrounds like Signal Creek and Last Chance provide accommodation options for those looking to spend multiple days on the water. A public bus stop is located just up the hill from the marina, making it accessible for those without their own transportation. While potable water and electricity are not available at the launch site, it offers a well-maintained facility for accessing this scenic corner of Southeast Alaska.
