Free parking is available at the site, and the ramp provides straightforward access to the reservoir's calm waters.

Kokomo Reservoir is part of the Wildcat Creek system, which flows from Kokomo toward Lafayette before joining the Wabash River. The reservoir itself offers a more sheltered paddling environment compared to river paddling, making it suitable for various skill levels. The surrounding park includes picnic areas and walking trails, providing a pleasant setting for a full day of recreation. Note that the nearby 500 East park area does not have a public boat launch, so plan to use the 400 East ramp location for water access.
