Kountz Bridge is an undeveloped day-use only boat launch located on the Jefferson River near Whitehall, Montana. This access point offers a convenient put-in for paddlers and boaters exploring one of southwest Montana's popular float rivers. The launch provides access to several popular float options, including the scenic stretches between Waterloo and Parrot Castle downstream.
The Jefferson River is an excellent choice for kayakers and canoeists of all skill levels. The river features no rapids and maintains a generally slow, gentle current, making it ideal for leisurely floats and fly fishing. With multiple boat ramps spaced only a few miles apart along the river, paddlers have excellent flexibility in choosing float distances and routes. Note that this is a basic, undeveloped facility suitable for day use only, so plan accordingly and pack out what you pack in.
