About This Access Site
Kuttawa Landing is a public boat ramp providing access to Lake Barkley and the Cumberland River system in Lyon County, Kentucky. Located on the northern shores of Lake Barkley near the narrow canal connecting it to Kentucky Lake, this site offers convenient launch access to one of the region's premier freshwater recreation areas. The ramp is situated just south of the I-24 dam on KY-295—look for the launch on the left side, approximately 0.25 miles south of the interstate crossing.

The Old Kuttawa Recreation Area encompasses the landing and features additional amenities including picnic areas and a swimming beach, making it suitable for both day-use paddlers and those planning longer outings. The site serves paddlers accessing Lake Barkley, Hammond Creek, and Knob Creek. For current conditions, facility details, or to inquire about camping reservations at the adjoining recreation area, contact the Lake Barkley Resource Managers Office at 270-362-4236. Recreation
The half-mile Anderson Woodland Trail is an enjoyable footpath for birding and viewing the great tall trees of the region. Other activities include swimming, fishing and boating.
Facilities
Two large picnic pavilions, an ampitheater, a playground, restrooms and paved parking are available. Plenty of picnic tables and grills are scattered around the recreation area, with ample shade for sunny summer days.
